"In January 2003, I began to learn the art of Indian bansuri flute playing from Pandit Gopal Roy, and after 6 months I knew that I would dedicate myself heart and soul to learning his rare "gayaki" or vocal style of bansuri playing. I have been back to study with him every year since.
Two things have shaped my sadhana (practice): ragas have the power to intoxicate and transform us, and we can access that power by practicing and listening to ragas at their intended time of day.
Kaal Chakra (cycle of time) is my two-album tribute to the great time theory of Indian classical music, and includes Kaal Chakra: Morning & Noon Ragas and Kaal Chakra: Evening & Deep Night Ragas"
